This specimen was lot 3077 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$268 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Monaco, Honoré II. 1604-1662. 1/12 Ecu de 5 Sols (Luigino) 1658. Selten. Sehr schön. Schrötlingsriss. (principality of Monaco, Honoré II, 1604-62, one-twelfth écu or five sols or luigino of 1658. Rare, Very fine, Flan crack.)"
The prince of Monaco issued an extensive series of coinage, from copper double tournois to one écu, mostly imitation of the neighboring French coinage. Today, it is all scarce to rare altho, as always, the crowns obtain the highest prices. This type is noted for 1654-59. This denomination was last struck in 1681.
