This specimen was lot 30375 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Honore II 1/2 Ecu (30 Sols) 1653 VF20 NGC. Featuring the modified bust of Honore II and crowned coat of arms with the motto of Grimaldi. A nice, one-year type, incredibly rare and with handsomely aged patina." The SCWC lists demi-écus for Monaco, struck in various styles, for 1648-83. All are scarce and most are rare.
