This specimen was lot 27513 in Heritage sale 3031 (Dallas, January 2014), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 300 Cruzeiros 1972, UNC. A sparkling golden example. Struck to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the independence of Brazil." We note the presence of Paris mint privy marks on the obverse; whether the coins were struck there or the dies were made there, we can't tell.
Recorded mintage: 50,000.
Specification: 16.65 g, .920 fine gold, 27.5 mm diameter, lettered edge.
Catalog reference: KM 584.
