Brazil 1975 centavo rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen is the first coin issued by Brazil as part of the F.A.O. series. Few South American countries issued F.A.O. coins but Brazil issued a large number of one, two and five centavos for F.A.O. in the 1975-78 period. A regular issue one centavo (KM 575.2) also exists for 1975. The coin's reverse features sugar cane, not a food crop as such but a major export product for Brazil.

Recorded mintage: 31,700,000.

Specification: stainless steel.

Catalog reference: KM 585.
