Künker sale 400, lot 353

This specimen was lot 353 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,206 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. 1/12 Dukat 1682, SHS, Breslau. Wardein Salomon Hammerschmidt. GOLD. Vorzüglich. Erworben im Jahr 1960. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, one twelfth ducat of 1682, Breslau mint. Extremely fine. Purchased in 1960.)"

This tiny coin was struck 1681-83 and 1687-1690. The Breslau mint also struck coins for the local bishop; these are listed under Breslau.
