This specimen was lot 31292 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles IV gold 2 Escudos 1795 Mo-FM AU Details (Rim Filing) NGC, Mexico City mint. Handsome design features with minimal wear and pleasing orange-gold color, especially on the reverse. Despite evidence of rim filing, this is a solid example from a seldom available issue. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins." All Mexican colonial gold may be considered scarce. The type was struck 1791-1808 and is the most plentiful of all the colonial two escudos.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
