France 1871K franc rev DSLR.jpg

The SCWC notes a "small mintmark" variety but Le Franc only reports a large mintmark for this date. The Bordeaux mint was closed in 1867 but reopened in 1870 after the Germans seized Strasbourg (mintmark "BB").

Recorded mintage: 1,251,748[2].

Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 822.2, F.216/3.
