This specimen was lot 23693 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 4 1/2 Piastres 1921, MS66 NGC, a superb frosty white coin of this one year type. From The Ted Reams Collection." This silver 4½ piastres was struck during the reign of George V, king of Great Britain 1911-36. Tho denominated in piastres, it is the same size and weight as a British sixpence. It is a one year type, the first since 1901 and the last until 1938.

Recorded mintage: 600,000.

Specification: 2.82 g, 0.925 fine silver.
