This specimen was lot 34576 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CYPRUS. 1/4 Piastre, 1922. NGC AU Details-Surface Hairlines. Scarcer date." The SCWC lists this type for 1922 and 1926 where it was struck in moderate numbers along with half piastres (KM 17) and one piastres (KM 18), all in bronze. Cyprus, seized from the Turks by the British in 1878, was given a quasi-sterling coinage where nine piastres = one shilling.

Recorded mintage: 72,000.
