This specimen was lot 136 in Aureo & Calicó sale 242 (Barcelona, March 2012), where it sold for 4,100 € (about US$6,365 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Carlos II (1665-1700). 1687. Lima. R. 8 reales. (Ex Ponterio Enero 2002, nº 1952, mismo ejemplar). Redonda. Tipo ´real de presentación´. Doble fecha. Perforación, habitual en estas piezas. Rarísima. MBC. (Charles II (1665-1700), eight reales of 1687, Lima mint, round, two dates. Holed as usual, extremely rare, very fine. This specimen is from Ponterio sale of January 2002, lot 1952.)"
