This specimen was lot 74742 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 20 Francs, 1935-B. Bern Mint. NGC MS-65. A captivating and enthralling Gem striking, this lustrous specimen dazzles with majestic cartwheel brilliance." This type was struck 1897-1916, 1922, 1925-30 and 1935 in large numbers and most dates are readily available today for their bullion value. The 1935 was restruck after World War One but the mint added an "L" to the reverse as a distinguishing mark.
Recorded mintage: 175,000, a fairly common date.
Specification: 6.45 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.1867 troy oz AGW.
