This specimen was lot 34363 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Confederation Specimen Franc 1936-B SP66 PCGS, Bern mint. Featuring a sharp strike with virtually unblemished fields. Faint lilac and peach tone on the obverse adds to the appearance. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This type was struck 1878-1967 in silver and is still in production today in copper-nickel form. Few dates after 1936 are scarce and this one is slightly scarce.
Recorded mintage: 500,000 plus specimen strikes.
Specification: 5 g, .835 fine silver, .134 troy oz ASW.
