This specimen was lot 2497 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland. Franc, 1937-B. Superb example. PCGS graded MS-67." This type was struck at the Bern mint 1874-1967. The design is still in use today tho the coin is now copper-nickel. This specimen is struck to the standard of the French franc of 1866-1920. Prior to confederation in 1850, each Swiss canton issued its own coins.
Recorded mintage: 1,000,000 plus specimens, a common date.
Specification: 5 g, .835 fine silver, 23.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
