This specimen was lot 1340 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,000 (about US$1,348 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWÄBISCH HALL, STADT, 1/2 Reichstaler 1746, Nürnberg, mit Titel von Franz I. Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Tönung, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, city of Hall in Swabia, half thaler, 1746, Nuremberg, struck in the name of Francis I. Attractive example with fine toning, extreley fine to uncirculated.)"
The city of Hall in Swabia was a large issuer of coins in the Middle Ages but by the eighteenth century its issues are few and scarce. This issue was accompanied by a thaler and a ducat.
