This specimen was lot 2507 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 1,700 (about US$2,130 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Dukat 1746. Nürnberg Titel Franz I. Vorzüglich-fast vorzüglich. (ducat of 1746, Nuremberg mint, in the name of Francis I, extremely fine or better)" The city of Hall in Swabia was a large issuer of coins in the Middle Ages but by the eighteenth century its issues are few and scarce.
