This specimen was lot 44580 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $690. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Penny, 1720. George I. PCGS MS-62 Brown Gold Shield. A well struck and pleasing example of the type, with soft luster and an even, dark chocolate brown patina. There are no distracting marks in the fields, the only disturbance of note being a rust pit on the original die, located to the right of the bust." This type was struck 1719-24 and is common up thru Fine condition.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 9.86 g, copper, 27 mm diameter.
