Jean Elsen sale 132, lot 559

This specimen was lot 559 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIE, ETATS PONTIFICAUX, Jules III (1550-1555), (Giovanni Maria Ciocchi del Monte), AR giulio, an 3, Rome. D/ B. à g., vêtu de la chape. R/ OMNIA TVTA VIDES/ ROMA Roma assise à g. sur des rochers, vêtue d'une cuirasse, ten. une couronne. Rare Belle patine. Très Beau. Berman notes eight different giulii for this reign, of which this is the rarest. OMNIA TVTA VIDES = "YOU SEE EVERYTHING SAFE".
