This specimen was lot 50693 in Heritage sale 440 (Long Beach, May 2007), where it sold for $977.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 10 Pounds 1980, choice BU, Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty." This is the first issue from Egypt of this denomination. There was a concurrent issue of gold five pounds (KM 517), gold pound (KM 509), silver pound (KM 508) and copper-nickel 10 piastres (KM 504).

Recorded mintage: 950 plus 50 proofs.

Specification: 40 g, 0.875 fine gold, 1.1254 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 519, Fr-142 (formerly Fr-65).
