"Sorotchintzy Fair" is a short story by Nikolai Gogol, the first in his collection Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka, blending Ukrainian folklore, romance, and comedy around a bustling country fair. The plot follows a young man, Grytsko, who falls for a beautiful girl, Paraska, at the fair, but faces obstacles from her mean stepmother, leading him to use local superstitions, including a tale about a demon's red jacket, to win her hand." Recorded mintage: 5,000 proofs.

Specifications: 67.25 g, 0.925 fine silver, 50 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
