This specimen was lot 5070 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$415 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Basel, Bistum Basel Wilhelm Rink von Baldenstein, 1608-1628. Halbschilling 1622, Delsberg. Selten. Schön. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 6, Zürich, Mai 2012, Los 2936. (Switzerland, bishopric of Basel, Wilhelm Rink von Baldenstein, 1608-28, half schilling of 1622, Delsberg mint. Rare, Fine.)"
The SCWC states this coin was issued by the canton of Basel but the auctioneers correctly refer it to the bishop, he being named on the obverse. This one year type is rare. The bishops of Basel were expelled from the town during the Reformation. He resided in Pruntrut and normally issued coins from there.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver or billon, this specimen 1.01 g.
Catalog reference: KM 9, Mich. 139. D.T. 1298, HMZ 2-129a (this example pictured).
