United States 2005S quarter rev MN.jpg

In 1999, the United States mint began a program of commemorative quarters featuring each of the fifty states. Five designs were issued each year 1999-2008. In 2005, the states featured were California, Minnesota (shown here), Oregon, Kansas and West Virginia. The program was popular enough that it was expanded to include the territories in 2009 and the national parks in 2010.

Recorded mintage: 3,262,960 proofs plus 1,069,679 in 90% silver.

Specification: 5.67 g, copper-nickel with a copper core, reeded edge, 24.3 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 371 (clad, shown here), KM 371a (silver).
