This specimen was lot 2487 in Goldberg sale 100 (Los Angeles, September 2017), where it sold for $446.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Hamburg. 2 Mark, 1900-J. Light reddish tone over gleaming surfaces. PCGS graded MS-67+." This type is common and was struck 1892-1914. The Hamburg mint is still in operation, striking coins for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Recorded mintage: 172,000.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge, this specimen 11.09 g.
