This specimen was lot 996 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $141. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Republic, AR lira, 1941, NGC graded MS63." This type was struck 1940-41 with the portrait of Ismet Inonu, successor to Ataturk. Turkey remained neutral during World War Two.
Recorded mintage: 6,167,000.
Specification: 12 g, .830 fine silver, 29 mm diameter.
