This type, struck 1925-27 and 1932-33, is the last gold coin minted in the Netherlands for circulation. This bust was used on all the silver and gold denominations from the ten cents to the ten gulden. The Netherlands, remaining neutral during World War One, continued to issue gold until 1933, the same year the United States went off the gold standard.
