This specimen was lot 41121 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $7,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "LITHUANIA. 5 Litai, 1925. London Mint. PCGS PROOF-63 Gold Shield. Mintage: 11 (or less). Dazzling and fully brilliant, this choice proof issue offers an INCREDIBLY RARE chance at a piece issued solely as a 'proof of record' by the Royal mint in London. A charming golden-olive nature accentuates what is already robust eye appeal. Ex: South African Mint Collection." This five litai is the only issue of this denomination from the first republic of Lithuania (1918-40). It was struck at the London mint. It was one of a series issued in 1925 ranging from one centas to five litai.

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 13.5 g, 0.500 fine silver, 29.5 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-78.
