Stack's Bowers February 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75375

This specimen was lot 75375 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "LITHUANIA. 5 Litai, 1936. PCGS MS-64. An impressive near-Gem with frosty, argent surfaces and a great strike." This commemorative was accompanied by a ten litai (KM 82), 5 centai (KM 81), 2 centai (KM 80) and one centas (KM 79). It represents the last coinage issued by the republic before World War Two.

Recorded mintage: 2,612,000.

Specification: 9 g, 0.750 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, edge lettered TAUTOS GEROVE TAVO GEROVE.
