Stack's Bowers 2019 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72434

This specimen was lot 72434 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "LITHUANIA. 10 Litu, 1936. NGC MS-62. Bust of Duke Vytautas Didysis facing left. A well struck example with rich old envelope tone." This commemorative was accompanied by a five litai (KM 82), 5 centai (KM 81), 2 centai (KM 80) and one centas (KM 79). It represents the last coinage issued by the republic before World War Two.

Recorded mintage: 720,000.

Specification: 18 g, 0.750 fine silver, 32 mm diameter.
