Lithuania 1925 50 centu
This specimen was lot 43236 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $1,630. The catalog description[1] noted, "LITHUANIA. 50 Centu, 1925. Birmingham (Kings Norton) Mint. PCGS MS-65. A lovely Gem example of the popular Inter-War Baltic type, offering brassy appeal and soft glossy color. From the Collection of Kazmier Wysocki, former mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey." The Heaton mint was contracted in 1925 to strike this and one centas, five centai, ten centų, twenty centų, one litas, two litu and five litai. In the early twenties, Lithuania had a population of about 2.7 million.
