This specimen was lot 41122 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "LITHUANIA. 2 Litu, 1925. London Mint. PCGS PROOF-63 Gold Shield. Mintage: 11 (or less). An EXCEEDINGLY RARE issue that exists [because] the Royal mint produced a small handful of 'proof of record.' For the advanced collector of Lithuanian or Baltic states in general, this undoubtedly represents a mesmerizing opportunity. Ex: South African Mint Collection." This two litai is the only issue of this denomination from the first republic of Lithuania (1918-40). It was struck at the London mint. It was one of a series issued in 1925 ranging from one centas to five litas.

Recorded mintage: 3,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.4 g, 0.500 fine silver, 22.9 mm diameter.
