This specimen was lot 178 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €11,000 (about US$15,576 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Dukat 1753, Hall. Brustbild r. mit Diadem und umgelegtem Mantel//Gekrönter Doppeladler mit Kopfscheinen, auf der Brust gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen (Ungarn, Böhmen / Österreich, Burgund), mit Mittelschild (Tirol). GOLD. Von größter Seltenheit. Leichte Druckstellen im Feld der Vorderseite, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Gerhard Hirsch 136, München 1983, Nr. 527. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, ducat of 1753, Hall mint. Obverse: diademed and mantled bust right; reverse: crowned and nimbate double-headed eagle supports the crowned arms of Hungary, Bohemia, Austria and Burgundy with the escutcheon of Tyrol. Extremely rare, light pressure marks on the obverse, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1742-65 with this subtype with quartered arms on the eagle is listed for 1747-65. Double ducats (Fr-405) also exist.
