This specimen was lot 2582 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE | Königreich. Louis XVI. 1774-1792 1/10 Ecu au bandeau 1782. AA Metz. Vorzüglich. (kingdom of France, Louis XVI, tenth écu of the ribbon of 1782, Metz mint. Extremely fine.)"

Droulers[2] notes this tenth écu au buste habillé as rare. The Metz mint (mintmark "AA") struck this type for France in 1779, 1782 and 1784.

Recorded mintage: 15,760[2].

Specification: 2.95 g, 0.917 fine silver, 21-22 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM, designed by Benjamin Duvivier, this specimen 2.93 g.
