The first specimen was from CGB sale 16. Droulers[2] notes this tenth écu au buste habillé as a better date but not rare. The Metz mint (mintmark "AA") struck this type for France intermittently 1779-84.

Recorded mintage: 37,773.

Specification: 2.95 g, 0.917 fine silver, 21-22 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
