This coin was minted in Mexico City as the third year of a type struck 1951-54. The earlier dates are very common and trade as bullion coins but the 1954 is scarce. The bust is of Miguel Hidalgo, martyr of the struggle for independence from Spain.

Recorded mintage: 20,376,000.

Specification: 27.78 g, 0.720 fine silver, .643 troy oz ASW, 40 mm diameter, edge lettered COMERCIO - AGRICULTURA - INDUSTRIA.
