This specimen is from a type issued for Liberia 1960-61, 1968-78 and 1983-84. Most years were not struck for circulation, being issued only in proof sets. In the last twenty years, Liberia has fallen into the clutches of the private minters, who have issued such Liberian themed commemoratives as Star Trek (KM 128), Babe Ruth (KM 131) and Princess Diana (KM 464).
Recorded mintage: 5,056 in sets only.
