This specimen was lot 2845 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "German States: Paderborn. Taler, 1683. Sede Vacante. St. Liborius holding crozier. Reverse: Charlemagne holding orb and scepter. Couple of scratches. Reflective fields, lustrous with attractive toning. Very Scarce type. NGC graded About Uncirculated, Details (Mount Removed)." All the thalers of Munster and Paderborn are scarce. The town and the region were thoroughly devastated by the Thirty Years War and never recovered.
