This specimen was lot 72514 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 1/4 Taler, 1734. Hall Mint. Charles VI. NGC MS-62. A ash gray appearance at first, but once moved in your hand, the light dances off the surfaces. With an almost Prooflike nature, this near-Choice would be near the top of the next collection it enters." Altho this coin does not bear a mintmark, the Hall mint was the only facility to strike this denomination in 1734. Despite being a one year type, it is not rare.
Recorded mintage: 27,000.
Specification: 7.20 g, 0.875 fine silver.
Catalog reference: KM-1618.2.
