Sincona sale 26, lot 3722

This specimen was lot 3722 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,050 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Basel, Stadt, Taler o. J. (1670). Um 1670. Stadtansicht, Münster in der Mitte. Vorzüglich. Attraktive Patina. (city of Basel, undated thaler, city view, church in the center. Extremely fine, attractive toning.)"

The SCWC lists this undated type for the eighteenth century but we respect the opinion of SINCONA, who live in Switzerland.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 28.42 g.

Catalog reference: Winterstein 123, HMZ 2-78c. KM 126, Dav-1746.
