This specimen was lot 1373 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$2,124 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN AUS ÜBERSEE · VEREINIGTE STAATEN VON AMERIKA, Föderation. 10 Dollars 1902 S, San Francisco. Liberty. 15,05 g Feingold. Mit Motto: "IN GOD WE TRUST". GOLD. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Aus der Familiensammlung Mohr. (United States, ten dollars of 1853, San Francisco mint, Liberty head type, with motto. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This specimen is one of a type struck at the San Francisco mint 1854-89, 1892-1907. Issues are also recorded from Philadelphia (1839-1907), New Orleans (1841-60, 1879-1906), Carson City (1870-84, 1890-93) and Denver (1906-07). In 1866, the motto "In God We Trust" was added to the reverse. This date is common in all grades thru Uncirculated, altho gems are scarce.
