This specimen was lot 33382 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 1/2 Penny 1912-H MS65 Red PCGS, Heaton mint. An incredibly vibrant example with superb, faded-red surfaces beaming with original mint luster. A coin with tremendous appeal and a superior grade; tied for the finest graded at PCGS." The type was struck 1911-36 at London, Calcutta, Melbourne, Sydney and Heaton (this specimen). The Heaton Mint produced this type 1912 only.
Recorded mintage: 2,400,000 plus a few proofs.
Specification: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter.
