Sedwick Treasure Auction 28, lot 18

This specimen was lot 18 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Madrid, Spain, cob 1 escudo, Charles II, 1690, very rare (unlisted). Bold date above off-center cross (first example we have heard of), nicely centered full cross, VF with dark sediment in crevices." The SCWC lists this type for 1679 and 1689, Cayón for 1689-90.
