This specimen was lot 1628 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $565.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXE-ALBERTINE LINE: Friedrich August III, 1763-1806, AR thaler, 1784, IEC mintmaster initials, lovely strike, traces of original luster under light golden toning, PCGS graded MS63." This type was struck 1780-90 and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver.
