Saxony 1785-IEC thaler Dav-2695
This specimen was lot 1402 in Jean Elsen sale 151 (Brussels, June 2022), where it sold for €340 (about US$425 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Friedrich August III (1763-1806), AR Taler, 1785IEC, Dresde. D/ T. à d. R/ Ecu ovale couronné entre deux rameaux de laurier. Fine griffe au droit. Belle patine. Superbe. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus III, 1763-1806, silver thaler of 1785, Dresden mint. Obverse: head right; reverse: crowned oval arms between two olive branches. Light obverse scratch, nice patina, Extremely Fine.)"
