This specimen was lot 75684 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $45. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 10 Rials, SH 1348 (1969). Tehran Mint. Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. NGC MS-66." This ten rials was issued for the F.A. O. in 1969. Another ten rials (KM 1178) was struck for ordinary circulation but it was not dual dated. Both are worthless. The shah was overthrown in 1979 and he died the next year.

Recorded mintage: 150,000 plus 7,156,000 of KM 1178.

Specification: 7 g, copper-nickel, 28 mm diameter.
