Sincona sale 90, lot 2599

This specimen was lot 2599 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 20,000 CHF (about US$26,428 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, Doppeldukat 1621, St. Gallen. Sehr selten. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, double ducat of 1621, St. Gall mint. Very rare, Extremely fine.)"

This very rare type was struck 1621 only.
