This specimen was lot 1975 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$3,876 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA | Gurk, Bistum, Franz Xaver von Salm-Reifferscheid, 1784-1822. Dukat 1806, Wien. Sehr selten. Nur 332 Exemplare geprägt. Vorzügliches Exemplar mit Prägeglanz. Feine Kratzer. (bishopric of Gurk, Francis Xavier of Salm-Reifferscheid, 1784-1822, ducat of 1806, Vienna mint. Very rare. Only 332 pieces struck, Extremely fine specimen with remaining mint luster, Minor hairlines.)"
Gurk, formerly the seat of a bishopric, lies in Carinthia. This ducat was accompanied by a twenty kreuzer (KM 1).
