The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "George I. 1714-1727. 1/2 Guinea 1720, London. First laureate head. NGC F12." This type was struck 1715-24. While not rare, it is expensive in nice condition. The dates 1717 and 1718 appear the most often. A 1721 half guinea with an elephant and castle below the bust exists but is very rare.

Sincona sale 82, lot 1735

This specimen was lot 1735 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,472 including buyer's fees).
