This specimen was lot 158 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,123 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Qajar Dynasty, Fath-'Ali Shah, 1212-1250 AH (1797-1834). Toman 1224 AH (1809), Kashan Mint. NGC MS64. Purchased from Shahmoradi, London, in 2013."
This gold denomination was struck at numerous mints during the reign of Fath 'Ali Shah. This style and weight standard is listed in the SCWC as type U. This style was also struck at Astarabad (KM 745.1), Isfahan (KM 745.2), Tehran (KM 745.4) and Yazd (KM 745.5).
