This specimen was lot 2439 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $101.15. The catalog description[1] noted, "QAJAR: Fath 'Ali Shah, 1797-1834, AR ½ riyal, Rasht, AH1222, type B, dated on both sides, nice strike, VF, R." A one rial struck to the type B standard was supposed to weigh 10.36 g, making a half rial 5.18 g. The Rasht mint is listed for AH 1217 only. This type was also struck at Shiraz, Tabriz, Mashhad, etc.

Specification: 5.18 g, silver, this specimen 5.24 g.
