This specimen was lot 1943 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $228. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Bolivia|BOLIVIA]], Potosí, cob 4 reales, 1757 q, ex-Ponte. VF with nice bold date between pillars, nearly complete cross, surfaces a bit crude with spots of dark encrustation. Pedigreed to the Luis R. Ponte Collection." This type was struck for Philip V through his entire reign. Assayer "q" stamped coins 1744-59. The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728.

VF with nice bold date between pillars, nearly complete cross, surfaces a bit crude with spots of dark encrustation. Pedigreed to the Luis R. Ponte Collection." This type was struck for Philip V through his entire reign. Assayer "q" stamped coins 1744-59. By this time, the Potosí mint was the only mint still striking cobs.
