This specimen was lot 1238 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $13,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, gold bust 2 escudos, Ferdinand VI, 1751 J, first bust, rare, NGC AU 50, ex-Almenara. Broad flan with choice rims, good luster and faint toning, light honest wear only, rare and desirable first date of issue for which none appear in MS grade at NGC. Pedigreed to the Almenara Collection." This type was struck 1751-53 and all dates are rare. The Mexico City mint used a different bust.
